There is little in life more magical than a colorful sunset in the mountains on a warm summer's evening. Where better to experience this than the historic Harpers Ferry area nestled among the Blue Ridge Mountains where the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers converge. The views are breathtaking with the best of Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia right at your feet.
Driving west along Route 340 and crossing the bridge over the Potomac from Maryland into Virginia, we look up (briefly, keep your eyes on the bridge-road) and see a series of buildings nestled high in the mountains. That's the Harpers Ferry Brewery ... with great beer ... and great scenic views. As they say themselves, brews with views!
I used two of my own original photos to loosely sketch the image, then digitally paint it, freehand, in a very loose impressionistic style, in Corel Painter.
