Description
Honored to announce that "Sidewalk Cafe" tied for first place (with one of my own images, "Counter Seating Available") in the Fine Art America contest "Pick Your Seat" 1/15/18. Congratulations to the other winner!! My sincere thanks to the contest host, Geoff Sadler Designs, and to everyone who voted for my image(s)!!!
A street scene in the beautiful old town of Berryville, Virginia ... the welcoming tables and chairs on the sidewalk backdropped by the reflection of the buildings across the street in the plate glass window of the shop behind them.
Taking an autumn drive in Mid-October 2014, a favorite past-time in my leaf-peeping family since my earliest days, my husband and I drove through the quaint town of Berryville, Virginia. As we wound slowly down the streets, we happened to pass this charming spot. Camera ready in my lap as usual, I quickly lowered the car window and snapped. What resulted was a badly exposed, very tilty image ... but somehow the beautiful day and the innately inviting atmosphere of the scene called to me, so I decided to see what I could do with it. Though the resulting old-timey tones and a few other things may not be representative of what was seen by my eyes, they certainly do represent what my heart saw.
Fine art purchases of this image will not include a watermark, and if I may make a recommendation ... this image will look its very best on the fine art paper choice of "picture rag."

fabulous work, Lois. I am so glad you mention 'no ai' because I took five looks - it is simply just too amazing and wonderfully executed that I had to reassure myself, lol.
Lois Bryan replied:
Thanks so much, Sabina!! This was all done with Photoshop .. the tones and colors were a nightmare, so I had to use lots of imagination and digital magic!!! But this was long before Ai!!!
